The Garden

your face surprised me.
oblivious
unlike any other
no more lying, sweetheart
wasn’t the crush.
practically strangers.
butterflies flew around
landing on the grass,
broken metal.
every step taken
lasted so
long

secret ice creams stop.
water falling from
the umbrella
light on and on.
off.
Worms flopping around
on the open pavement.
the rain had fallen
and your hooked
on each others arms

the blossoms from
the garden
growing every so often,
crushed by the
silent yellow show
no longer standing

see the hearts
fluttering to the ceiling?
road block.
look away before
the wandering eyes notice.
simple subject,
such a long dictionary.
the long hair plays,
you play along.

Movie moments distant.
Marked it on my calendar.
i wish i heard that voice,
“move legs move!”
silence to my eyes.
what curse caused
this mystery?

Like a puppy hanging out
of the window
i smiled at the adorable.
fading away into the
next scene;
includes no dialog
the haircut to the
broken rainbow
Anymore changes?
i need sleep.

The flowers from
the garden
growing every so often,
crushed by the
shy black shoe
no longer standing.
